We had our rehearsal dinner at the Dancing Cat Saloon and they exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Jessica and Ian, the owners of the Saloon, were absolutely wonderful. From the moment I reached out about having a dinner at the Saloon, I received an immediate response which was warm and eager to help us throw the best dinner for our family and friends. They also were quick to accommodate our request for a vegetarian dinner, and gave us a sample menu within a day. We booked with them right away as we could tell they were going to be lovely to work with. Well, it couldn't have been a better decision. Jessica and Ian were in constant contact with us, they even arranged for flowers for the night of the dinner with our wedding color theme (the flowers were beautiful) and made sure to play music we loved. We didn't have to think twice about decorating which was a relief with the wedding planning. The Saloon itself has so much charm, our guests were in love!
The night of the actual rehearsal, everything went smoothly and perfectly. We felt at home at the Dancing Cat Saloon. Oh, and the food, it was incredible!! Every dish was perfect and our guests ate it all up. The night of our dinner, they even posted a sweet message on their website about our wedding. Honestly, you just don't come by this kind of service. It was A++++
We feel so lucky that in years to come we can come back and support Jessica and Ian at the Dancing Cat Saloon and relive our incredible rehearsal dinner. -

Don't like the changes
We have been to The Dancing Cat Saloon many times and loved the place. Yesterday we took some friends there after raving about the place and we were all very disappointed. The now have a VERY limited menu (maybe 7 or 8 items) and the prices are high. Please bring back the old DCS. -

Very disappointed to say the least!! This restaurant was recommended as a place to enjoy a meal prior to a concert at the Bethel Woods venue. We arrived shortly before 5p. The parking lot was crowded which seemed like a good thing since the reviews said the food was good. The building is air conditioned which is a good thing since there was a heat advisory out for the day. We checked in with the hostess and she asked if we had reservations. We told her No, and that we were looking for a meal prior to the concert and did not know the area. We were told that seating inside was reserved for people who had made reservations only. There were many open tables but we were told if we wanted to eat, we needed to sit outside. Of course the 2 tables in the shade were taken so we sat at a table in the sun. Now we were told the only food option available was a buffet for $25 per person. That is all they offer on concert days!! They start serving off their "regular" menu at 7p ( which is when the concert starts). Drink options were not much better. No drink menu was offered which was surprising since the Catskill Distillery is on premises. We were expecting drinks that highlighted their products. My husband ordered vodka and grapefruit and was told that they had no more grapefruit juice. ( Although in their defense, they did manage to find some grapefruit juice for him.) My friend and I ordered white sangria which was freshly made and very good. The buffet was terrible!! It featured fried chicken ( Smelled great! Tasted fair), pulled pork, pasta salad, fruit salad, rice, bread, mozzarella cheese and overcooked vegies. While we ate our meal outside numerous groups of people came and left due to policy of not having reservations. The atmosphere was not welcoming -- our waitress seemed annoyed with us for asking questions. It was too hot to be eating outside without shade while tables were available inside. I could see saving tables outside for those not eating, but after paying $25/ person we should be able to sit inside and eat our meal without sun and bugs. The food was not good and the buffet was over priced. Options in this town are very limited so they take advantage of people who don't know the area and don't know this. Perhaps it would be better to not take reservations and serve on a first-come-first-served basis.
We did not try drinks from the distillery, which is on premise, in a different building. We were told the bourbon is very good.
The 4 of us will not be back! -

We had an incredible time here, the owners was extremely gracious. Super good food, out of the two days we were there we ate there twice. Al the bartender is by far the best bartender in NY. We plan on visiting Bethel again to just go there. Lana & Jody

Have past by here multiple times on way to our Lake house in the PA mountains. Our niece and her husband were up for the weekend and they were heading back but stopping for lunch before continuing home as well as try a small sampling of distillery products. We decided to join them and try out the location.
Somewhat crowded parking lot thought would be packed in the restaurant, we were rather quickly seated.on the deck outside, we were offered inside or outside. Seated and water served within a few minutes, menus given and within 15 minutes drink orders were delivered and our meal orders taken. Very nice pace! Not NYC fast but not down south slow either! If in a rush state so or better yet don't stop in come another day and enjoy your meal!
The food listings were a decent varied selection. Prices are not cheap a little high but reasonable for the area!
We started with BBQ Chicken wings, crispy chicken coated in BBQ Sauce, very good! I had Fried Chicken and fries (Yes I know lot of fried foods but really wanted to try) and chicken looked over cooked and just short of burnt! We'll bite into chicken, and was crispy, evenly done, juicy not greasy and great! Spot on !!!! Fries, crispy on outside soft and tender inside! Score!!!!
My wife and nephew each had The fish dinner and it was very good! My niece had the pulled pork dinner and was really very good! We all shared a large bowl of Chili con Carne that had the purple rice on top very deceiving but also very good!
Over all a great meal, great service, very friendly staff and the worst part of the visit was nothing!!!! It was good and above on all counts!
We went over to the distillery after "Linner" and we all four shared an 8 flight sampler. Service was relaxed and laid back, not pushing bottles or drinks! But provided service when requested or required! We found two bottles that we (Nephew and myself) really loved and bought a couple of bottles to enjoy when up at the house or company comes over to relax by the fireplace after dinner or sitting looking at the lakeside and valleys around!
The restaurant is under new ownership and please have some patience and understanding! Be polite, kind and smile! It will be returned in service and quality! A must stop by to try if nearby!!! Please give time to sit, enjoy and relax! You will be happy you did! We will be going back and bringing more family and friends to enjoy!!
